Chandlings records own Audiobook
Chandlings has recorded it's own audiobook Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with over 50 narrators featuring staff and children from the school.
The audiobook was released to coincide with World Book Day on Thursday 4 March.
Nina Brown , the school's librarian, wanted to do something that would get everyone off their screens for a bit as they have used them so much during lockdown. She and Mrs Love (deputy head) came up with the idea for children and staff to record the book together.
"We wanted to celebrate Book week together at the same time as getting the children off their screens from the online learning, " said Miss Brown. "It was also another way of getting the school community together as usually during World Book Week we would all be dressing up as our favourite books in school and listening to visiting authors which sadly we can't do this year."
Some of the children even created their own backgrounds and music for their sections.
'The narrations from the children and staff were amazing," added Miss Brown, "we had a lot of fun creating it."
All the children visit the school library every week at Chandlings and during lockdown Miss Brown has also been recording her own Lockdown Library Tales from her magic storytelling shed which she has shared via social media every Friday night.
