Lands End to John O'Groats Chandlings Challenge

Over the next 5 weeks, Chandlings School has the challenge to collectively walk, jog, or cycle the length of Britain from Lands End at the bottom of England to John O’Groats at the tip of Scotland. The route for this 1111 mile challenge, avoids public roads, uses many of the country’s natural trails, and is loosely based on a route found in the book The Lands End to John o’Groats Walk by Andrew McCloy.

The route will take in many beauty spots of Britain and use paths on the Camel Trail, the Granite Way Tarka Trail, the Cotswold, Severn, and Pennine Way, and once in Scotland the West Highland and Great Glen Way.

The children (and staff) have to walk, jog or cycle for that time and estimate how far they have travelled.  It can be in their garden, a park, or on the pavement if it is safe to do so.

Once they have completed it they can enter the distance onto the google form and Mr Brodley will add together the total distance for the whole school for that week and let you know where along the route we are camping.

Let's get walking, running or cycling...we have a long way to go!
