Henley Children's Literary Festival
On Monday morning we were transported to Paris, New York, the Amazon, and we even climbed the Battersea Power Station - all from the comfort of the Main Hall! Thanks to the amazing author Katherine Rundell for taking us on such an adventure!
It was brilliant to be part of the Henley Children's Literary Festival, knowing we were tuning in with hundreds of other children around the country was very exciting. Katherine gave such useful, practical insights into her creative writing process; she told us about the importance of the editing process and how we can all write brilliant stories if we are prepared to edit them many many times - she likened this process to working clay until it is smooth and polished.
She also told us crows are so clever they can get chocolate out of vending machines! Katherine is breaking the silence on her next book on Wednesday - we can hardly wait!
Here are some of her fantastic books which are all available in the Chandlings library.
