Chandlings awarded in Muddy Stilettos Best Schools Awards 2022
Chandlings Prep is delighted to have been awarded Highly Commended for the Best Experiential Learning category in the 2022 Best Schools Awards for Muddy Stilettos. Over 400 schools from across the country entered the awards. Congratulations to Mrs Hook, Miss Richardson, Mrs Dingle and Mrs Nelson our Year 1 teachers and teaching assistants along with our maintenance and catering teams for bringing alive our 'Blast into Space' Day for our Year 1 children.
The experience began with invitations sent to the children inviting them to dress as astronauts or aliens. On the day the children were transported via ‘Moon’ Buggy with an astronaut driver to the Space hoppers where they bounced through the curtain of stars!
They then crawled through a black hole tunnel into the Chandlings Prep Space Centre.
Station complete with a large scale rocket, astronaut, moonbuggy, planets, lazer beams across the room, Top Rocket Launch videos playing and a full scale interactive Space control panel.
Inside the space centre there were different space themed tasks for the children to do and even lunch was space-themed and eaten from foil containers to add to the whole experience!
The aim of the Space Day was to inspire the children’s imaginations, stimulate curiosity and provide first hand experiences that they would remember and treasure in the future.
